With the WippWalker, controlled forward and backward movements are carried out by shifting your weight from one leg to the other and at the same time moving forward or backward with the device. This is how you move with the Wipp-Walker:
Lay the Wipp-Walker crosswise on the floor in front of you. Place both feet on the right and left sides of the seesaw walker and find your balance. Then shift the weight completely to one side until the opposite side is completely relieved. Now push the unloaded side forward from the foot/pelvis, using the shoulders as a 'counter-bearing'. Now shift the weight to the other side and move forward on the opposite side...if you realize that the loaded side is always the pivot point and therefore stable, while the unloaded side is moving, you have recognized everything correctly.
